In the end of January we enjoyed a week long family trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. What a blast we had! I love Mexico for many reasons. First of all, the Mexican people are amazing. They are so friendly, fun, and just a vibrant people. Secondly, I love Mexican food! Give me all the fajitas, nachos, seafood, and salsa I can handle. I can totally eat Mexican food every day and never get sick of it! Finally and most importantly, Mexico is a gorgeous country. It has all you need in one place. From exploring cities, to bumming on the beach and jungles greener than anything you've ever seen. We've been to Mexico 3 times now and I never get sick of it!
I love travelling, but I HATE packing (and more so unpacking). I never know what to take with me! Do I need casual lounge wear, or trendy exploring and taking pictures outfits or fancy dinner and show attire? Honestly, you gotta have it all! So here I'll share with you a few outfits I took with me on my last trip to Mexico!
First, let's talk about lounge and travel wear. I found these really lovely black leggings at Marshalls Canada. I initially wanted them just for our early morning flight with the kids but I fell in love with them and they ended up being a staple for this trip. They were so easy to pair with pretty much any top. This very light weight denim top was also a great find. Often denim tops are heavy and more structured but this one was perfect for the heat and for mom on vacation (but not really on vacation) life. Finally, can't forget a great jersey hijab like this Kuwaiti hijab from Fatomina Hijab. It's so comfortable and didn't need any pins!
This striped to, also from Marshalls was a great find. I love the length! It's perfect for hanging out and exploring the town with the family. The color combination makes this top super versatile so you can pack less without feeling like you've been wearing the same thing the whole time. Simply change up your hijabs!
We spent about half our time between the beach and the pool at our resort. I purchased this swim suit last summer and I just love the style, color and how comfortable it is. Although modest swimwear can be a little on the pricier side, do go ahead and invest in a quality suit that will last you. I had purchased 2 cheaper ones in the past and they stretched out so fast. Find this style at Lyra Swimwear.
Light weight tops with sleeves are hard to find, so when you find a great top you can wear in many ways, you buy it! I purchased this striped top from Zara and I've worn it so many times! The neutral pattern makes it so easy to pair with so many different colors and other patterns too! These light weight pants were also a solid find. They are incredibly light weight and have become a staple in my summer wardrobe. Can't forget this Kuwaiti hijab from Blush Boutique to complete the look. Great quality hijab to grab and go!
Every resort vacation needs a dressy outfit. At least once in your week away, you need to get into a nice outfit for dinner. I chose to take along this light and comfortable dress. It does not wrinkle, has pockets and the sleeves are at the wrist bone. I can't say no to a floral as the multiple colors makes it a great piece to mix and match. Also, this dress can be dressed up or down.
