Outfit of the Day: How to Wear a Tweed Blazer

Every top designer of all time from Chanel to Armani have had a tweed blazer walking down the runway. Tweed is not only for high fashion. Mainstream clothing stores such as H&M and Zara have had, and continue to have tweed blazers grace their shelves. Not only that, celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Cameron Diaz and Victoria Beckham have all been spotted wearing tweed blazers. Tweed fabric is timeless and ageless. Often recognized as “granny chic”, tweed is for any fashionista, in any season!

I had never thought of purchasing a tweed blazer but this beauty came as a gift from my in-laws. At first, I had no idea how to style it! Was it a dressy piece for occasions, or casual, or somewhere in between? After much time spent on Pinterest and perusing tons of fashion articles I realized that indeed the tweed blazer is one of the most versatile pieces you can have in your wardrobe!

These blazers can be paired with a matching pencil skirt and heels for a great business look. At the same time, they can be thrown over a white t-shirt with a great pair of flats for a more casual look. No matter how it is worn, tweed always looks chic and put together! There are so many styles too, so you are bound to be able to find a style that suits you.

My favorite way to wear this specific tweed blazer is over a white top with dark wash jeans. Since the color is so unique, I like to let the blazer been the pop of color in my outfit. Therefore, I pair it with a simple silver hijab which has a little shimmer just like the threads in the blazer. The blazer is my statement piece so I try not to let the rest of the outfit take away from it but compliment it.

I absolutely love this blazer and I hope to add a few more tweed pieces to my wardrobe in the future.
